Kenton Thatcher is an award-winning advertising and portrait photographer. Born in London. He fell quickly into photography thanks to his father’s obsession with the camera and darkroom, and as you can see from his profile picture he started shooting at a very young tender age of 10.
At 17 he started traveling and assisting some of the world’s finest photographers. His last assignment before “going it alone” was as assistant to Clive Arrowsmith on the Pirelli Calendar.
Kenton is now based in Lisbon Portugal and over the past 18 years has built himself an amazing reputation. Many of his iconic images have been used in worldwide advertising campaigns. He has a unique ability to inspire and energise his subjects, a factor that is ever-present in his work. Some images could be described as aggressive, yet sensual and vulnerable.
He is constantly involved in charity work as well as other international projects. Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) as well a worldwide campaign for TAG/Heuer in collaboration with other photographer shooting a calendar of celebrities in their GT cars, with all proceeds going to The Save The Children fund.
Clients include L’Oréal, Siemens, Samsung, TAG/Heuer, Vodafone, Megafone, Wella, Mateus Rose, Nike, Sky+, Playboy, Maxim, Sony, Elle, EMI, HSBC, Santander, Citybank and Universal Music.
He was also chosen as one of the few photographers to be sponsored by Epson Europe.
Kenton is currently seeking representation in Europe and the US.
